Matarrevalva is the name of a place near the town of Ledrada, located in the province of Salamanca.

In late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the chacineros Celedonio Gomez and her husband, Segundo Garcia, destined this place as "reposadero" for Iberian pigs for slaughter had moved up from Extremadura Castilla.

Matarrevalva meant a break for Iberian pigs, exhausted by the long trip they had made.
